Our Technology
Hermosa’s FPL device emits precisely filtered light that targets hair follicles while protecting your skin surface. Compared to IPL, FPL delivers more stable energy for gentler, faster, and more effective hair reduction.
- Comfort-cooling system for sensitive areas
- Suitable for most skin tones and hair types
- No downtime, minimal discomfort
Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
FPL works by using selective light absorption to heat the hair follicle, damaging the melanin cells responsible for hair growth. This process gradually slows hair regrowth, making the hair finer and eventually stopping regrowth altogether.
Is it painful?
You may feel a warm flick — our cooling tip keeps it comfortable.
Treatment Cycle
The treatment cycle depends on your skin type to allow adequate recovery time between sessions:
• Normal Skin: Every 15-20 days
• Sensitive Skin: Every 28-30 days
How long does it take?
Small areas (lip) take ~10 mins, larger areas (legs) 45–60 mins.
Why do I need multiple sessions for hair removal?
Hair does not grow all at once; it grows in different cycles. At any given time, only a portion of your hair is actively growing, while the rest is in resting or shedding phases.
Light-based hair removal treatments such as FPL or IPL are only effective on hairs in the active growth stage (anagen phase) — when the hair is still attached to the follicle and can absorb the light energy that disables its growth.
Since not all hairs are in this stage simultaneously, multiple sessions are required to target every follicle as it enters the active phase.
Hair Growth Phases:
• Anagen (Active Growth): Hair is attached to the follicle — the most effective stage for treatment.
• Catagen (Transition): Hair detaches from the follicle — less responsive to light energy.
• Telogen (Resting): Hair is dormant and not affected by light treatment.
By scheduling your sessions approximately every 3–6 weeks, new hairs can enter the anagen phase, allowing the treatment to work progressively. With consistent sessions, hair regrowth becomes finer, lighter, and slower, resulting in long-term smoothness.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends on your skin colour and also hormones. Most areas required 5-6 sessions. But certain areas like brazilian are more stubborn, it may require more sessions.
